As someone new to coaching and looking to become a health and fitness coach I found the tools and ideas in the book eminently useable. The exercises are relevant, achievable and really helpful. Well paced, well structured and easy to read. Highly recommended.

This was recommended by someone in our coaching group and I found it very useful. Just one tip if you're a coaching academy student trying to pass your practicals- the model she's using is a bit different, taking longer and - shock!- the word suggestion sometimes appears! But lots of very practical guidance from someone with great experience and very down to earth. Recommended.

I found the Coaching Manual to be very easy to read with plentiful ideas for getting the most out of coaching, for both the person coaching and also, perhaps more importantly, the person being coached. The extra resources available online are an added bonus to an excellent book.

As the song goes "simply the best" this book is a very impressive read with the author using clear and precise language to get her points accross throughout the entire book. The easy to read non jargon style allows the reader to understand the principles of coaching much more easily then some other heavy volumes. Julie Starr brings the reader along at their own pace and at no time did I feel I was being lectured to. In my oppinion one of the best easily understood and effective life coaching books ever printed.
